It’s so easy for me to get ensnared by my own dark thoughts masquerading as mere rumination.

They start as vague chords of dissatisfaction with an aspect of my life or myself, then imperceptibly while I go about my routine, they tighten around my mind like a closed garden hose swelling with water around its wheelbase.

It’s only when panic starts to set in that I realize what’s happening, that the darkness is winning.

Eventually (some days later than others) my higher awareness gropes its way to the front of the room, remembering there is a path toward the light.

Once again the only way out is through. The only true light is unearthed in stillness.

Start by standing still in a field, in the sun.
